The Authors' Registry

ALCS works in tandem with the Authors Registry in the United States to reunite authors with royalties collected for the secondary use of their works generated through:

• limited amounts of photocopying and scanning licensed by the UK Copyright Licensing Agency in educational establishments, government departments and businesses;
• overseas Public Lending Right (the loan of books in libraries); or
• cable retransmission in the UK and overseas

ALCS transfers monies to the Authors Registry for authors known to be resident in the United States.  The Registry’s job is to locate and register the author in order to release the fees due to them.  For further information please click on the following link. http://www.authorsregistry.org
