ALCS claims system for Google Book Settlement

In the most recent edition of ALCS News you will have read that ALCS intends to make available, to those Members who wish to take part in the Google Book Settlement, a system to help Members claim ‘cash payments’ for the unauthorised digitisation of their works.

 The terms of the Settlement are still being reviewed by the US Court with a further ruling expected some time within the next two months. The ALCS system will not be made available until the Settlement has received final approval. In the event of such an approval we will notify all Members whose works we have identified as being digitised without permission and who are therefore eligible for cash payments, either by submitting their own claim (personally or via their agent) or by using the ALCS service.
