Review of Public Libraries
Results of the Public Library consultation undertaken by the DCMS over the last 18 months were published this morning by Culture Minister Margaret Hodge.
The review which ended in late January was carried out with the aim of helping libraries to grasp the opportunities of digital technology, and become a more “customer focused” public service.
The outcomes of the review have implications for PLR as legislation is being proposed to set up a new strategic libraries body for England. There is to be further consultation on how the PLR will be integrated into these new proposals.
