Association of American Publishers reach agreement with Google
The Association of American Publishers has reached an agreement with Google to settle litigation begun in 2005 relating to the unauthorised scanning of books held in certain US libraries as part of Google’s ‘Library Project’. Publishers will now work with Google to make titles available through Google Books and via the retail site Google Play. Paul Aiken of the US Authors Guild has confirmed that this settlement does not affect the ongoing litigation bought by the Guild on behalf of authors.
