How to join
Register, let us know what you’ve written, and tell us how to pay you – then we do the rest. You just need to keep your account up to date with all your works and any changes to your personal details.
Lifetime membership costs just £36 and we take this off your first payment: you don’t have to pay anything upfront.
Please note, if ALCS has concerns as to the legitimacy of a membership application or any element of the information included in it, we will ask for supplementary information about you and your written works to process your application.
If you’re a verified member of one of the following unions, you can join for free:
- Society of Authors
- Writers’ Guild of Great Britain
- National Union of Journalists
- British Association of Journalists
- Chartered Institute of Journalists
Applicants are able to join ALCS as both an Ordinary and a Successor member, however you can only join ALCS once as an Ordinary member.
