ALCS is proud to stand with Ukraine
The Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS) is proud to stand with Ukraine and declare solidarity with all the people living in Ukraine, as well as with our fellow Ukrainian writers.
We are deeply saddened by recent events and condemn the Russian government’s illegal invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine. It is a privilege to join our European colleagues and those around the world in declaring solidarity with all the people living in Ukraine, and our fellow Ukrainian writers.
We stand with all Ukrainians and citizens affected by the war, especially Ukraine’s writers, their authors, scriptwriters, editors, illustrators, translators, journalists, and others whose work and creativity represent everything we as an organisation believe in and champion.
We express our solidarity too with those authors and creators within Russia bravely expressing their opposition to the war and putting themselves at considerable personal risk to protest it.
Vladimir Putin’s actions have shown a blatant disregard for civilian lives. We add our voice to the global call to protect human lives, human rights and for peace.
