Last month, we paid 31,486 members their share of £11,862,152. We've put together some headline statistics that you might find interesting!
What was the £11,862,152 paid out for? We paid our members for thousands of books and minutes of TV, and over one million minutes of radio transmissions.

Where does the money come from? Licences for schools from the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) was our biggest source of money followed by UK Educational Recording, Business licences from the CLA, Italian TV broadcasts and Visual Arts CLA licences.

Which countries received the most in payments? After the UK (£9,970,507), the highest paid countries were USA (£1,120,381), Australia (£250,026), France (£66,562) and Canada (£63,385).

Did you know that ALCS also pays out money for visual arts contributions? This figure continues to grow year-on-year, and in the recent distribution reached £364,897.

Which TV shows earned the most payments? Hollyoaks retained its position as the highest earning TV programme, followed by Eastenders, Waterloo Road, All Creatures Great and Small and Emmerdale.

Didn’t get paid in this distribution? September is the smaller of our two distributions, with only around a quarter of members paid. The majority of members are only paid in March.
