Your guide to the September distribution

The next ALCS distribution will take place on 30 September with just under a third of members receiving a share of around £11 million. Here’s your guide to this, the second of our two annual distributions.

THINGS TO DO BEFORE THE DISTRIBUTION

Changed your bank details since the last ALCS distribution in March 2020? Make sure you update your ALCS account with these details by 10 September to ensure you receive a payment if you’re due one.

Now is also the time to check the works we have for you are up to date. Login to your ALCS account and make sure only your own works have been attributed to you. If you see any anomalies on your account then please do let us know.

ARE YOU DUE A PAYMENT?

If you are, we will:

  • send an email to your registered email address to let you know your statement is ready to download
  • add a notification to your online account to let you know that there is a new statement available to download.

If you don’t receive an email and there is no notification in your online account, then you haven’t received a payment this time. It’s worth remembering that this distribution is the smaller of our two distributions and our various income streams can be received by ALCS at different times of the year.

We’re unable to send out any paper statements to members, so you’ll need to log in to your online account to access yours. If you don’t have an online account, please contact us and we can set up one for you.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM?

The September 2020 distribution will predominantly include payments for retransmissions of audiovisual work, photocopying of books in the education and government sectors in both the UK and overseas, along with payments for visual contributions.

Your statement will include a list of sources against each payment. Take a look at the 2020 Distribution sources guide to help you understand where the money you are due has come from.
