Enter the ALCS CKG competition: #MyCKGShelfie

***THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED***

Take part in the ALCS CKG Shelfie competition and win a full set of books shortlisted for the CILIP Carnegie Medal 2021!

Parents and carers – we want to see your kids’ shelves and all their favourite books. We’ll be judging shelfies based on their uniqueness so this is your chance to get creative and show off your interior design skills too. Librarians and teachers, shelfies from your classroom or library are welcome too.

Post your picture using the hashtag #MyCKGShelfie for the chance to win a copy of each of the shortlisted books:

  • Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo (Hot Key Books)
  • The Girl Who Speaks Bear by Sophie Anderson, illustrated by Kathrin Honesta (Usborne)
  • The Girl Who Became A Tree by Joseph Coelho, illustrated by Kate Milner (Otter-Barry Books)
  • On Midnight Beach by Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick (Faber)
  • Run, Rebel by Manjeet Mann (Penguin Random House Children’s)
  • Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds (Knights Of)
  • The Fountains Of Silence by Ruta Sepetys (Penguin Random House Children’s)
  • Echo Mountain by Lauren Wolk (Penguin Random House Children’s)

Let’s celebrate some of those favourite stories and magical adventures that are sitting on our kids’ shelves.

Devised by the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS) for CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway (CKG) Shadowing Scheme. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting creativity and literacy, ALCS is proud to be sponsoring the CILIP CKG Book Awards for the 14th consecutive year. The CILIP CKG Medals are the UK’s oldest and best-loved children’s book awards, recognising outstanding reading experiences created through writing and illustration in books for children and young people.
